Fisher House Wants Your Airline Mileage Donations

Washington, D.C.-based Fisher House Foundation offers free airline tickets and housing for families of military members who were injured in Iraq or Afghanistan and are under medical care at hospitals and VA facilities.  As the daughter and granddaughter of military officers, I appreciate the work they are doing.

The program uses donated airline frequent flyer miles under its "Hero Miles" program to help with flights.  This Memorial Day weekend, 10 airlines have agreed to match any mile donations made to Fisher House.  Participants include: AirTran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways.
